Mood: Wanting SW winds!

After being rocked to sleep by the wind in the van, woke up excited ready
for a day of sailing. Didn't want to go out alone so waited for some other
bods to role up. Unfortunately the wind shut off completely in that time.
Launched on a 7.8 lightning and my Stoke but there was simply no wind at
all. Sailed up to the estuary but there was still nothing happening. Really
disappointed I slogged back down the beach and came in.
The entire demo packed up and moved to the estuary. Good move. I was first
out on my 8.0 Heckler and Stoke, rigged as fast as I could because it was
going to get really busy once all the demo kit got on the water. Ran into
almost every sandbar going but had a good laugh doing it. The wind started
to pick up and a few more people came out so I went in to steal some demo
kit. Re-launched on a JP Supercross 93 and a Gastra Poison 5.8. The board
was as fast as hell, really good fun but the sail seemed to have a very
limited wind range, over powering well before I would have expected from
one of my Storms. After a while I the wind picked up even more and I just
wasn't comfortable on the 5.8. had some lunch then blagged a 5.0 Rock and
too the JP board back out. Much better. Really fast, great through chop and
really fast gybes. Had a ball. Once my arms felt like they were going to
fall off I came back in and chatted to a few guys on the beach
almost packed up when I realised that there was a Starboard S-type with a
Storm 6.0 (couldn't hold down a 5.8 Gastra but the Tush was fine) lying
there. Had to give it a go. Now that's what I call speed! Probably the
fastest board I have ever been on. So fast in fact I didn't dare gybe it as
I thought I would run out of water before the turn was completed. It also
span out so badly that I could hardly hold it straight. Once it went, that
appeared to be it. Nothing I was able to do to get it going again. I
actually sailed it onto the beach sliding up the sand on my arse when
trying to turn up wind! That's once crossed off my new board list....
